Wayne Shorter's showcase

This project consist of the creation of a microsite containing process from one of our favorite graphic design assignments at school.

I decided to showcase my creation of the promotional campaign for Wayne Shorter's 2008 tour, and his new release "Beyond the Sound Barrier". Wayne Shorter (born August 25, 1933) is an American jazz composer and saxophonist, commonly regarded as one of the more important American jazz saxophonists and composers since the 1960s.

For this project we were encouraged to get out of our comfort zone, and be creative with other resources rather than the computer. For my design I used acrylic paint, tracing paper, grass, linen, spanish moss, leaves and mounting spray.

My inspiration came from the song "Joy Rider". This song helped me get into the groove of jazz music and lead me later to apply the elements of the music into my design. The design emphasizes on the 4 different music instruments through the use of a different color. The "barrier" it's expressed by the use of a white circle, where the music passes through.
